Cathlab

Cathlab stands for a catheterization laboratory. It is used for diagnosis and treatment of critical cardiac and brain conditions like vessel blockages and aneurysms. Most catheterization labs have two major types of equipment: an X-ray machine and an image magnifier.

In cathlab we can do invasive procedure. It requires all sterilization technique. It is a very simple and painless procedure done under the local anesthesia. If required general can be given.

80% – 90% goes under local anesthesia. The time required is also very less. It hardly takes about 40 - 45 minutes in case of angiography and an hour so in case of angioplasty. In the case of multiple vessels, it takes a little longer time. During the whole process, the patient remains awake.
